Building Your Own Vanity Unit

If you can a small bathroom and not much space for storage then a vanity unit is just for you. You can mount to the wall and have selves inside hidden away for your toothbrush, shaver etc. You can also have a mirror on the front to save space as well.

Below are directions on how to build a vanity unit...

Measure the space where the vanity is going to go ensuring you get accurate measurements. If you do not get precise measurement you could put all the hard work in then the unit may not fit.

Draw a picture of what you want the vanity unit to be like on paper to scale so you have an idea in your mind of what the unit will look like finished. You must decide whether you would like draws or shelves. You can purchase the draws or make them yourself.

You must then choose what material you would like to use. I suggest wood as it will be the easiest for you to make but you can choose from wood, metal, glass, plastic etc. Make sure the material you choose goes with the rest of the deco in the bathroom and purchase a little more than is needed in case you do something wrong.

Cut the material to the size and shape you require then build it together like a box. Attached hinges to one side and attached the door then the selves inside then attached to the wall. If you would like a mirror on the front glue this on after but make sure you make where you would like it to go so you fix it on straight.
